Preps for HackteriaLab 2014 – Visits and Presentations @ UGM, Yogyakarta

During these weeks we had many visits and meetings with our HackteriaLab 2014 partners in UGM. It’s nice how much support and interest they have for our interdisciplinary open collaboration approach! Since our first microscopy workshops at UGM, this collaboration has endured and grown into many different branches.


“A community of scientist led by Irfan D. Prijambada and Donny Widianto, lecturers at Faculty of Agriculture Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta. The community is represented by Nur Akbar Arofatullah, also a member of lifepatch, and also several students, have been working in close collaboration with lifepatch members for several years. Several examples of art and science collaboration projects between them are Bio-ethanol fermentation and Jogja River Project.

BrainHacking vs. Larry’s Tattoo Show @ SURVIVE!garage, Yogyakarta

PEN_8669As part of our Pre-Phase for HackteriaLab 2014 – Yogyakarta we were doing a joint session with Larry Bang Bang aka Roman Mäder, hosted by SURVIVE!garage. For the start of Larry’s series of shows, collaborative murals and performances, we joined Larry’s Tattoo Show and did a small BrainHacking workshop. We used the circuit developed during Tony Hall’s µ-Residency in BioTehna, and modified to fit the event. A simple oscillator for blinking two LEDs at Theta-Hertz brain-frequencies can generate myriads of illusionary patterns…
