Post-HLab14 Dissemination Session at Tech4Dev International Conference, EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland, 4-6 June 2014

The UNESCO Chair in Technologies for Development hosted by the Cooperation and Development Center (CoDEV) will hold the third International Conference on Technologies for Development and asks "What is Essential?" How to alleviate poverty in this world? Innovative technologies? What is appropriate technology?

Enrollment

External registration for Friday during the day is officially closed - if you would like to join us on Friday night or Saturday, come by univercité

For those who registered for the hackathon, online prior to the event will have a Friday day pass to the Conference at the Convention Center.

People are required to pick up their badge on Friday morning (open starting 8:30am) at the Conference Registration at the Swiss Tech Convention Center on EPFL campus.


If you are already attending the Conference, and you would like to sign up, please look for us in the main hall, where we will have a sign-up sheet at the exhibition space during the conference.

4-6 June, During the whole conference, place to show some prototypes, discuss, welcome people, last minute on-site enrollment etc.

EPFL campus can be easily accessed by public transport. The new Swiss Tech Convention Centre is on EPFL campus.

UniverCité is at 5 Ch. du Closel, 1020 Renens.

Friday 6 June DAY PROGRAM

During the day, we are part of the tech4dev Conference. The full conference program can be found here.

08:30 onwards, Walk-in Registration
10:30 - 12:30 Hackathon - short introduction and get-to-know-eachother make a float / water sampler / sensor
12:30 - 13:30 dumpster diving @ EPFL for materials for floats/boats
13:30 - 15:00 Hackathon -
15:30 - 17:00 Closing Session - (our report of the day's activities will be part of the Return of Day 3 conversations)

Friday 6 June NIGHT PROGRAM

After the Conference, we will move the hackathon to univercité in Renens

We will first make a trip to the river or the lake, after the conference to float boats and collect water.
Eat: we will skip the BBQ for more hacking. Food will be picked up on the way...
