The International Synthetic Biology Festival took place between 23rd -25th of October 2014 in Vienna, Austria. In 2015 the festival is on a tour around the world…. and now it’s in Jogjaaa!!!
BIO·FICTION explored the emerging field of synthetic biology from different disciplinary angles including science and engineering, social science, cultural studies, amateur biology, film makers, artists and designers. We had presentations, panel discussions, do-it-yourself biology demos, performances, art work and of course film screenings. It featured short films on any aspect of synthetic biology, including documentary films, animation, (science) fiction etc.
