What to bring:

HUMUS sapiens
This year we meet from 25.-27.10.2019 in the woods near Munich.
Please write to humus@mikrobiomik.org on which days you would like to be there (with or without accommodation), and whether you already have a topic / project idea in mind or would like to give a workshop.
What
Soil creation and regeneration requires a tightly intertwined and interwoven network of organisms and matter, from microbes to animals and plants. The crosstalk between all of those compounds enables seeds to sprout on fertile soil.
We believe that this diversity is always the key to creativity and innovation: HUMUS sapiens creates interdisciplinary crosstalk and collaboration from scientists, biohackers, artists and ecologists to farmers and gardeners, to share and build knowledge and tools for soil analysis and regeneration
The Global Hackteria Network , Gasthaus: Fermentation and Bacteria and the mikroBIOMIK Society gather their resources to rethink the way we deal with our mother earth.

When
The retreat will take place from Friday noon, 25th October until Sunday 27th October evening.
Where - Hosting & Accommodation
The Projekt Draussen, also known as `Klause zum Schindergraben` is in the middle of the woods close to the Isar. In the upper floor under the roof is a cozy space where up to 20 people can be hosted in individual beds. From there you have access to a small terrace to enjoy a calm moment. There are more two smaller rooms with loft beds which have access to the balcony directed to the south from where you can see the little river and catch sun all day long. Feel free to bring your sleeping bag, bedsheets can be also available. You can also bring your tent and mount it in any place of the territory.
How to get there
Projekt Draussen is located about 30 km in the South of Munich in the woods and close to the Isar.
Schindergraben 1, 82544 Egling
By bicycle The bicycle tour along the Isar takes about 1-2 hours. There are the following possibilities:
- You start with your mountain bike on the Isar, for example in Munich at the Wittelsbacherbrücke, and orient yourself on the bike tour "Munich - Kloster Schäftlarn".
- Or you climb on your racing bike in Munich, choose an Isar site and orient yourself on one of these routes.
By public transport and walking
With the S-Bahn S7 direction Wolfratshausen you arrive from the Munich Marienplatz either in 33 minutes to Hohenschäftlarn or in 36 minutes to Ebenhausen-Schäftlarn.
From the S-Bahn station Ebenhausen-Schäftlarn, you can prepare for an Isar walk: route

By car
From Munich it takes about 30-40 min to reach Projekt Draussen by car following A95 or B11.

Microscopy
Workshop "Mikroskopie mit dem Handy" - Matthias Burba (Mitschriften von Malte Larsen, bitte gerne ergänzen)
Es gibt 2 grundlegende Systeme, endlose und endliche. Die Adapter müssen verschieb/verstellbar sein um den nicht-optimalen Fokus des Handys optimieren zu können. Der Autofokus muss durch eine App blockiert werden (Es gibt verschiedene Apps die sich bei Android und iOS unterscheiden, Namen leider nicht mitgeschrieben). 6-8 MP Auflösung sind mit einem billigem iPhone möglich (ca. 50€). (Nicon Coolpix wäre eine gut Kamera) Tubushalterungen sind online verfügbar für Handy oder Kamera. Ein externer Monitor zur Bildgebung während der Arbeit ist sehr komfortabel.
Aus Wisconsin gibt es 3d gedruckte Mikroskope mit Glaskugeln als günstige Objektive. (https://availabletechnologies.pnnl.gov/technology.asp?id=393) Eine dezentrale Lösung für Citizen Science.
"GPS Kamera" Software zur Speicherung definierter Metadaten in oder auf Fotos: Geschlossenes System zur Klassifizierung von Fotos, erleichtert es bei vielen Aufnahmen den Überblick zu behalten.

Robert Meisenecker presented a new prototype of the citizen sensor and introduced us into the technology. He also gave us some valuable insights about the challenges during this cooperation between Fraunhofer Institute and FabLab Munich.

Carlos is a nomadic Architect (who has lived in Peru, France and Germany), a transdisciplinary thinker and a metaphysical artist. In keeping with St. John of the Cross’s motto "to arrive to an unknown place, you must take an unknown path", he navigates through the blurry margins between Design, Complexity, Biology, Cognition, Physics, Teather, Biodance and Metaphysics. While living in Peru he has done various workshops, congresses, performances as well as installations: as co-founder of the “Atelier de la Carne: Metasensible Laboratory of the Body and the City”, or as co-director of the “Combi Project: Transdisciplinary Urban Reprogramming Laboratory”, he is and will continue to be a perpetual student, informal researcher, joyfull experimenter and inciter of the mindful understanding of love.

Marc Dusseiller aka dusjagr (CH)
Marc Dusseiller aka dusjagr is a nomadic researcher and workshopologist and works in an integral way, combining science, art and education. He is part of the Center for Alternative Coconut Research and the Swiss Mechatronic Art Society (SGMK), co-founder of the global Hackteria network and co-organizer of the different editions of HackteriaLab 2010 - 2014 in Zürich, Romainmotier, Bangalore and Yogyakarta. Before travelling the world for making DIY / DIWO laboratories for creative biological experimentation with living media, Marc entered the world of DIY electronics, designing printed circuit boards for synthesizers and organizing workshops and festivals in Switzerland and Slovenia. He lives and works in Zürich, Yogyakarta and Taipei. He also loves coconuts.
Janne "Pannu" Korhonen (FI)
Janne Korhonen is a forest ecologist and atmospheric scientist, currently finishing his doctoral thesis at the Institute for atmospheric and earth system research (INAR) at University of Helsinki. His main research interest is transport of carbon and nitrogen compounds inside forest, and between forests and the atmosphere. In addition to his research, Janne is involved in on Climate Whirl project, focusing on intersection between science and arts, popularization of science and science education. His other interests are photography, video and all-kinds of measurement-related geeking, especially chamber measurements.
