After few weeks of researching and learning under the program igem i have developed an interest in the process of apoptosis and the reason for cell destruction. Basically because of the fact that for this project we had to work with genes and they seem to have the answer or are the reason for almost anything that happens inside all living organisms. It all started by just searching for Lysis and i accidently landed on the term death gene and ever since i have just been searching for more information that can explain what its all about and give me a clearer idea about it. I have collected some articles which i found interesting and in the process i have become more curious about various other things like birth of genes, there destructions and how some of them are lost in the process of evolution, which has totally diverted my attention towards evolution ( including the evolution of matter ) and the creation of universe.

Nawani's! Death gene

Even though the Death gene does exists insn't it contradicting with Richard Dawkins idea of the selfish gene.

Since the soul purpose of the gene is to survive and reproduce.

Is it because of the defect in our death gene we have cancer?

Multi-celled life uses death to harness independent cells that are still inclined to compete with each other.*

Well i was wrong. The concept of Death gene doesnt contradict with the theory of The Selfish Gene but rather adds to the point that our genes are selfish and the DNA is our master controlling everything including death for the greater good (which is nothing great except for the fact that it allows our DNA patterns to more successfully survive and evolve) .
